Oreo (Mug) Cake


For the cake

Ingredients:

2 tbs self-raising flour *(go down)
2 tbs sugar (fine/granulated)
1 tbs cocoa powder
1 egg
2 tbs oil
3 tbs milk
5 oreos

Method:

1. Combine all the dry ingredients (except the oreos) in a bowl.
2. Crack the egg in the mixture and whisk it in.
3. Add the milk and oil. Mix thoroughly.
4.  Crush/grind the oreos (coarsely; preferably in a food processor). Add them to the mix.
5. Pour the mix into a greased mug and put it in the microwave. Bake it for 2 minutes 30 seconds (depends on your microwave; so keep a check).
6. Take the mug out and let it cool before you demould the cake.

* for self-raising flour: combine 2 tbs flour, 1/8 tsp baking powder and a pinch of salt.

For the frosting

Ingredients:

2.5 tbs all-purpose flour
1/2 cup milk
3/4 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 cup butter (softened)
1/2 cup fine sugar
5 oreos

Method:

1. In a saucepan, combine flour and milk and stir the mixture over medium low heat until it becomes really thick. Place it in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes so that it cools completely.
2. Cream the butter and sugar together.
3. Add in the vanilla essence and mix.
4. Add in the thickened (milk/flour) mixture and mix till it's light and fluffy.
5. Crush the oreos really finely. Add them to the frosting and combine well.
